Woodloch Weddings- The Beauty of Freedom of Choice
Nestled in the Pocono Mountains, alongside Lake Teedyuskung, is Woodloch Resort. Those lucky enough to have discovered it have chosen Woodloch as their destination and come back year after year, generation after generation.
This is not a resort you will stumble upon on a Sunday drive. Make sure you get directions from their literature or Web site before venturing to Woodloch. During the drive to Hawley, Pa., enjoy the beauty of the Pocono Mountains and the flavor of the surrounding communities. When you arrive at Woodloch, you will discover it is worth the trip.
One of the first interactions I had at Woodloch was with a friendly, curious deer. While I was checking out the lakeside ceremony site, a deer walked up to the deck of the inn. He meandered slowly, looking expectantly at the inn, waiting for someone to come out and play. I was told the deer are very accustomed to people and will eat right out of their hands.
Deer aren't the only friendly inhabitants of this resort. The staff is exceptional. They have received the Pennsylvania "Spirit of Hospitality" award. Woodloch is consistently on the list for "Best Places to Work in Pennsylvania." They won top honors in 2004. Everyone is friendly and knowledgeable. They are accommodating and flexible to meet the needs of their guests. Those who would like to get married on the premises have a choice of locations. Among them are a couple of lakeside spots and areas on the golf course. For smaller weddings or renewals, ask about the Staircase Lounge.
There also are many options for receptions. The Inn, decorated in rich colors, has an air of cozy elegance. This venue has an upper and lower reception room, as well as a deck. Depending upon the time of year, all of these rooms may be available for one wedding. This provides opportunities for a creative reception flow for up to 210 guests unlike anywhere else in the Poconos. Golf enthusiasts will enjoy The Clubhouse at Woodloch Springs. The Vista dining room has a panorama view of the mountains and private golf course. The decor uses the same rich colors as the Inn, with a crisp, tailored feel. The clubhouse can accommodate up to 150 guests. The Boathouse Restaurant on Lake Wallenpaupack also is owned by Woodloch and is available for receptions and rehearsal dinners.
Out-of-town guests can enjoy a fun-filled weekend at Woodloch. Accommodations range from hotel rooms to 5 bedroom houses. Activities include swimming, golfing, boating, bicycling, and more. Depending on the time of year, there may be a show and special activities. They also have special activities and amenities for children.
