Mountaintop Lodge in Pocono Pines is a charming inn that harkens back to a simpler time.

Merrily and Colin, the second

generation owners of this family business, have recently remodeled the 76-year-old inn. Merrily and Colin have extensive experience as chefs and in the hospitality industry. Their trademark is their custom-designed gourmet menu, developed to the specifications and needs of each bride. While they excel at preparing any type of fare, they specialize in heart-healthy cuisine.

Depending on the season, there are intimate options for a ceremony location. A lovely stone fireplace in the parlor serves as a great focal point for winter ceremonies or a back-up location in case of bad weather. The back lawn, surrounded by woodlands, provides a serene backdrop for an outdoor wedding. The inn also features a quaint wraparound porch that can be used for the ceremony. The versatile porch can also be used for cocktail hours or seating for dinner. The flow of the porch and the rooms within the lodge lends itself to upscale cocktail and hors d'oeuvres parties. Sit-down dinner options also are available.

Sixty to 100 guests is optimum for a reception; however, up to 125 can be accommodated. The size of the affair might require booking the inn's guest rooms. These rooms are tastefully decorated and some have Jacuzzis. Each bed has a thick luxurious mattress and down comforter. Each room has a private bath. In addition to the stenciled walls, fine linens and immaculate rooms, the one-of-a-kind pieces make each room distinctive. Most of these artful decorations were created by Merrily.

There are many amenities within a few miles of the lodge, which makes this a wonderful site for an intimate wedding weekend with family and friends.
